It’s NOT kosher: Agudah’s Yeshiva Summit, and the unclean mix that our communal organizations have become
Money talks. But it should not be replacing Torah values. In this case, money has not only bought the enemies of Yiddishkeit a foot in the door, but an honored place at the table.
BS”D
Most frum people are blissfully unaware that too many organizations that are thought of as “Torah-true,” in fact partner closely with those who are trying to tear down Torah Judaism.
Tomorrow, January 4, Agudath Israel is hosting a Yeshiva Summit. One of the speakers is Sara Seligson.
Here is the ad for a previous Agudah Yeshiva summit at which Sara Seligson also spoke:
Sara has worked for the Jewish Education Project for 35 years. See her LinkedIn profile:
Of course, the Jewish Education Project, which is part of UJA Federation, is an important component of the Yeshiva Summit because they help yeshivas secure government funding.
It’s even on their website:
But the Jewish Education Project does so much more, and these activities provide a window into their true purpose and motivations. Please see the other pictures I took of the Jewish Education Project website last year:
https://www.jewishedproject.org/
Oh, please don’t worry! Jewish Education Project is not only about to’eiva education, of course not! They even have resources for teaching about Shemitta!
YES, this is the organization that Agudath Israel is partnering with, to help the Torah education of our children.
JEP has lots of ideas to improve chinuch in ways that “will have a lasting impact on students and the community,” and they think we’re ready for what they have to offer:
By the way, on JEP’s site you will find many Reform women “Rabbis”, but also frum women in shaitels.
You see, the main thing is Jewish culture, isn’t it?
I cannot help but think of the Yevanim, who did not mind us keeping Jewish practices as long as we did so for cultural purposes, and not because HaKadosh Baruch Hu commanded us to.
In fact, this aligns perfectly with government funding requirements for the programs and textbooks they will sponsor, which allow teaching about Jewish practices but not Emunah and Yir’as Shamayim.
Can everyone not see that it is a recipe for utter disaster?
Why is Agudah pressuring the Yeshivos to respond to the government questionnaire, and to say that yes, we will give an education equivalent to that in public school?
Yes, we agree to give over the keys of our Yeshivos to the government education department?
Yes, whatever the government wants us to teach our children, we will teach them?
I thought we were supposed to resist, you know, like they did by Nes Chanuka?
And somehow I remember learning it’s asur to partner with Sonei Das? I guess that’s an “old-fashioned” notion, Rachmana litzlan.
Seriously, the partnerships between openly Reform organizations and organizations which advertise themselves to the frum community and pretend to be kosher are deeply troubling. There are so many links that we can see between Shalom Task Force/Footsteps/Jewish Education Project /Agudah/BPJCC/PEARLS/JOWMA, and they cannot be kosher. There is infiltration happening, and it’s ultimately meant to destroy our values and our way of life.
For example, you may already know that JOWMA is beyond the pale, as they hosted an abortion education webinar last year, asserting that abortion is always safer than continuing pregnancy and describing all the ways of performing abortion (without making any reference to Halacha, of course.)
But did you know that Avi Greenstein, chief executive officer of the Boro Park Jewish Community Council and a member of the executive committee of PEARLS, still partners with JOWMA to hold “health” events at the Boro Park Y?
The Overton Window is being used successfully on us.
How can we have any association with those who openly ignore the Torah?
How confused have we become?
Important note: Please be aware that the UJA Federation-affiliated Jewish Education Project which we discussed here is not the same as the kiruv organization called the Jewish Education Program by Rabbi Mordechai Katz, which has put out the well known JEP musical albums. These organizations are obviously very different and have no connection to each other.
